About us
The "Media Action Network" is a not-for-profit, professional formation and collaborative framework working at the European level, concerned with encouraging capacities and competencies in the diverse media fields, and developing opportunities for collaboration and coordination between media professionals in areas of common concern. The Network was formed on the initiative of the Media Department in the Federation of Islamic Organisations in Europe in 2011.
The Media Action Network aims to:
Achieve a paradigm shift in the reality of media work in Islamic bodies across the European continent, and, provide opportunities for new media generations from among Europe's Muslims, through a focusing vision that combines specialist knowledge, practical training, and direct practice, while encouraging positive media integration of Muslims in their societies, and their effective participation in European media environments.
The Network seeks to achieve this through:
- Identifying media prodigies from various generations, encouraging, refining, and investing these in positive programmes and projects.
- Developing human resources in the media fields, by developing specialist knowledge and practical training.
- Creating an interactive space bringing together those interested in media fields, given the diversity of areas, languages, and countries, while reviving communication between generations of media professionals.
- Launching initiatives that can achieve a better state of systematic media interaction with the concerns of the European scene.
How does the "Media Action Network" work?
The "Media Action Network" is a platform for collaboration, partnership, and exchange of experience among its members, which also allows them to link to bodies of media expertise, and to express their skills, and embody their creativity.
